Most people are reasonably upset

are 12 easy steps to remember.
Stay calm and make the accident
scene as safe as possible.
Stop your vehicle if it is
clear, safe and legal.
Move the vehicle out of the
travelled roadway, if it is
clear, safe and legal.
Switch off the ignition of the
car(s) involved.
Activate emergency hazard
lights.
Notify police if there are
injuries, safety hazards or
property damage.
Keep everyone clear of leaking
petrol and battery acid.
Mark the scene of the accident
with flares or retro reflective
triangles.
Exchange names, addresses,
registration numbers and
relevant material with other
parties (including witnesses)
before leaving the accident
scene.
Do not drive an un-roadworthy
vehicle from the scene of the
accident.
Get a copy of the police report
of the accident from the local
station.
